NSERC’s Awards Database enables you to search the database containing all grants and scholarships awarded by NSERC since 1991. Once you choose one or more parameters, then conduct your search, a list of awards (or a report) will be displayed. You can then obtain more details on a specific project by clicking on it. You can also obtain other reports through Display Results by selecting one of the topics listed in the pop-up list located at the bottom of the page.

Here are some helpful search tips:

  • Use the help bubbles indicated by a question mark (?) next to each field for helpful search information instantly.
  • To obtain valid results when using various fields, the elements selected must be related. For instance, if you select Animal biology for Committee and Astronomy and Astrophysics for Research Subject, no results will be returned.
  • Every award you view is now saved and displayed for convenience and quick access in the future. This also allows you to bypass the search process the next time around.
  • Any search result listings can now be sorted by Name, Project Title, Amount, Year or Award Type. This helps to narrow your search when a large list has been returned.
  • Use the Search button to execute your request. A list of awards consisting of award or title, name of person, financing year and financing type (grants or scholarships) will be displayed. Click on the title to view additional details about an award. A maximum of 200 titles can be posted at a time.
  • If you want the results displayed in a different format, use the drop-down list at the bottom of the search engine titled “Display Resulty By”. You can have the results displayed in one of the following formats:
    • Statistics by Organization
    • Statistics by Province
    • Statistics by Program
    • Statistics by Committee
    • Statistics by Area of Application
    • Statistics by Research Subject
    • Statistics by Award Amount
  • Click on the Advanced Search tab to reveal other fields. Searches can now be expanded to include Program, Selection Committee, Department and Award Amount fields. All additional fields also include filtering and autocomplete wherever possible.
  • NSERC’s Awards Database now has an Autocomplete function, which allows users to reduce the size of the lists in the search fields instantly and makes search entry quicker and more efficient. The user can also check or uncheck all with a single click.
  • Search results can now be output as a formatted PDF or Excel file to assist in saving, sending and archiving.
  • Use the Reset button to reset all parameters to their default settings.
